The UK Martial Arts And Fitness Academy (UKMAAFA) is a Tae kwon do school and self-defence academy located in London. Our mission is to provide training in self-discipline and self-defence through the practise of Taekwondo, promoting a healthy and happy way of life for individuals of all ages, genders, and cultures. Taekwondo is not just a physical martial art, but a discipline that enhances our spirit and life by training both the body and mind. It has gained international recognition and is an official sport in the Olympics.
The word “Tae Kwon Do” consists of three parts: "Tae” meaning foot or leg, "Kwon” meaning fist or fight, and “Do” meaning the way or discipline. Together, these parts represent the right way of using all parts of the body for both fighting and peacekeeping. Taekwondo aims to build a better and more peaceful world by teaching individuals how to control fights and conflicts. At UKMAAFA, we believe in the five tenets of Taekwondo: etiquette, modesty, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.
These principles guide us in our training and in our daily lives, promoting personal growth and character development. We offer a range of programmes for different age groups and skill levels. Our KickStars programme is specifically designed for children aged 4-7, introducing them to the basics of Taekwondo in a fun and engaging way. The Junior programme is for children aged 8-14 and focuses on skill development and character building through Taekwondo training.
For adults aged 15 and above, we have our Adult programme, catering to both beginners and experienced practitioners. In addition to our regular classes, we offer specialised programmes such as Poomsae training and Olympic sparring for those interested in competition and advanced techniques. At UKMAAFA, we are proud of the positive impact we have on our students and their families. Our instructors are experienced and passionate about teaching, creating a motivating and supportive environment for all.
Don't just take our word for it, hear what our students and parents have to say about UKMAAFA. We have received testimonials praising our team's dedication and recommending our school to others.
