Ultimate Freestyle Martial Arts (UFMA) is a renowned free-style martial arts organisation located in West Sussex, New Zealand. As a comprehensive martial arts school, UFMA offers students a unique blend of various martial arts styles and techniques. The club is committed to promoting fitness, flexibility, effective techniques, street self-defence skills, and sparring.
UFMA welcomes students who are 12 years old and above to join their training programme. However, it's important to note that UFMA is a contact club, so participants should be prepared for physical engagement. If you're interested in becoming a part of UFMA, the club offers a complimentary taster session to new students. Simply complete the online enquiry form, stating your desire for a taster session.
Attendees only need to wear jogging bottoms and a t-shirt. Water breaks are scheduled throughout the session, so it's recommended to bring a water bottle. For those under 18 years old, it's mandatory for them to be accompanied by their legal guardian during their first session. The initial part of the taster session includes an induction, conducted by either the instructor or a senior grade member.
During the induction, participants will be acquainted with DoJo etiquette and the session's format.
UFMA has recently introduced their new range of UFMA T-shirts, which are available for all members. Every member is eligible for one free T-shirt, and additional ones can be purchased for 15 each. For further information on how to acquire these T-shirts, students can consult their club instructor.
The UFMA Shop offers a variety of training uniforms and essential protective equipment for students. Additionally, the shop sells a wide range of Martial Arts products. As a perk, all UFMA members are entitled to a 6% discount on their purchases.
To assess the progress and development of students, UFMA conducts grading assessments. These assessments are conducted by Chief Instructor Sensei David Washington, a highly experienced 3rd Dan. During the grading assessments, students are required to demonstrate their proficiency in all aspects of their training, showcasing a good understanding of techniques and displaying technical ability and spirit to a high level. The cost of grading is 22 per student, which includes the student's new grade belt, grading certificate, and grade registration.
UFMA offers flexible membership options with no contract or tie-in period. Members pay a monthly fee, which can be cancelled at any time if necessary. Training fees start as low as 3. 50 per session, depending on the type of membership chosen.
More information regarding membership options can be found on their website.
For the latest news and updates, UFMA has an active Facebook news feed. Additionally, members have access to a dedicated members-only area on the website, where they can track their attendance, acquire the UFMA discount code, access the syllabus, and stay updated on upcoming events.
