TSS@Wolverhampton is a performing arts school located in Hadley, Telford. With a central aim to enable all pupils to experience the fun, excitement, and challenge of performing while developing their own talents, strengths, and qualities, TSS welcomes children of all abilities and experiences. What sets TSS apart is its dedication to providing a quality performing arts experience that unleashes each child's potential.
Founded in February 1999 by parents of Pax Baldwin, a star of theatre, film, and TV, TSS is led by Lee and Paul Baldwin, who have firsthand knowledge and experience in all areas of performing arts, theatre, and stage craft. Lee herself has worked on a number of films, including Harry Potter. Their vision was to make quality performing art tuition and performance available to all, recognising that today's performers need to be competent in dance, drama, and singing.
At TSS, strong emphasis is placed on performance to improve children's self-confidence in a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. The experienced staff are professionals in their respective fields, and all staff and volunteers undergo DBS checks to ensure a safe environment for all students. Importantly, TSS offers affordable class fees, making performing arts education accessible to a wider community.
The school offers a flexible approach to cater to students who want to pursue performing arts for fun as well as those who wish to make a career out of it. Students are taught the fundamentals and techniques of dance, drama, and singing in a structured format and then have the opportunity to apply these skills in live performances. TSS stages numerous performances throughout the year, and its students have been featured on local radio and have appeared in prestigious productions such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Les Miserables 20th Anniversary Celebrations in London's West End.
The success of TSS is evident in the achievements of its students, many of whom have successfully auditioned for places at prestigious London Stage Schools and have gone on to become teachers themselves. TSS takes pride in the fact that it has helped, so many young people pursue their passion for performing arts. The school's commitment to training and providing opportunities for young teachers further demonstrates its dedication to fostering talent and growth.
