Troon Chess Club

Troon Chess Club is a vibrant and welcoming chess club located in Troon, Ayrshire. Their goal is to provide a platform for chess enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to come together and enjoy the game of chess. The club meets every Thursday from 7:00pm to 10:30pm, from September to May, providing a regular and consistent opportunity for members to play and improve their skills.

One of the highlights of Troon Chess Club is their Junior Club, which aims to nurture and develop young chess players. The club's regular meeting place is the Railway and Transport Workers Club, conveniently located at 4 Shore Road, Troon, Ayrshire KA10 6AG. The venue provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for chess enthusiasts to gather, play, and socialise with fellow members.

Troon Chess Club is an active participant in the Ayrshire League, with teams Troon A and Troon B competing against other clubs in the region. The latest league results can be found on the Chess Scotland website, which may have resulted in grade changes for some individuals. Furthermore, the club itself organises internal games, providing an opportunity for juniors to earn their first chess grading.

Upcoming Ayrshire League games include Troon B playing against Stewarton on January 16th and Troon A hosting Ardrossan/Largs on January 18th. Team captains will be in touch with the members who are required to participate in these fixtures. As usual, members are encouraged to notify the club if they are unable to attend and play their match.
