We are proud to introduce you to Trent Valley Gymnastics Club, located at West Lindsay Leisure Centre in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. As a British Gymnastics club, we offer gymnastics classes for individuals of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced athletes. Our well-structured environment allows us to teach a wide range of gymnastics skills, including floor exercises, bars, balance beam, and vault.
At Trent Valley Gymnastics Club, we prioritise providing all members with access to the information they need. Whether you're interested in joining the club, learning about class times and fees, or discovering more about our coaches and competitions, you'll find everything you require on our website and social media pages.
The club was initially founded in 1993 by former Head Coach Mike Joyce, with just five gymnasts. In 2006, Mike retired, leaving the club in the capable hands of Head Coach Sally Holmes, an individual who possesses an unwavering passion for both the club and the sport of gymnastics. With Sally at the helm, the club has experienced tremendous growth, and we now boast approximately 90 gymnasts. Our club prides itself on its friendly and caring environment, with dedicated coaches and enthusiastic children who adore being a part of the Trent Valley Gymnastics Club community.
Our club philosophy revolves around fostering participation and enjoyment among our members. We celebrate seeing children embrace sports and becoming integral members of our club. We offer classes for individuals of all abilities, ranging from those who simply enjoy the sport and want to give it a try to those who possess the potential to take their gymnastics journey further. For those with exceptional potential, we invite them to join our squad for additional training.
This provides them with the opportunity to compete at the County and Regional level of British Gymnastics Competitions.
For new starters, our classes are held on Saturdays. These classes consist of a comprehensive gymnastics warm-up, basic gymnastics skills, and basic apparatus skills. We accept children starting at age 4, but they must have already begun school.
- Boys and girls aged 7/8 years and up: Wednesdays 4. 30-5.
Additionally, we offer squad classes on Saturdays from 9am-1pm for those who show potential and are interested in further honing their skills.
When it comes to fees, we have a yearly membership fee of 27, with class fees paid monthly in advance on the first Saturday of each month. For a 4-week month, fees are 14, and for a 5-week month, fees are 17. 50. Please note that in the event of missed training due to illness or holidays, fees are non-refundable.
Furthermore, all our gymnasts must be members of British Gymnastics (BG), the UK's National Governing Body for the Sport of Gymnastics. BG membership includes various benefits, such as insurance coverage for both gymnasts and coaches. The yearly membership fee for British Gymnastics is 16, and there is an additional yearly club membership fee of 10. However, this membership fee is not payable until after the first two weeks, allowing you to attend trial sessions at 3.
50 per session before committing to the membership fees.
Our coaching staff at Trent Valley Gymnastics Club consists of a fantastic team of dedicated coaches and helpers, ensuring that our members receive the highest quality instruction. Head Coach Sally Holmes leads our team and brings a wealth of gymnastics knowledge and experience, having taken over the club from Mike Joyce in 2006.
