Martial Arts Gym, a local Mixed Martial Arts club in Emerald, is excited to promote their upcoming event! Whether you're a seasoned fighter or just starting out, this event is open to all.
When it comes to attire, come as you are. Weather permitting, you can wear anything you feel comfortable in. However, it's recommended to wear loose-fitted clothing or active wear. And don't forget to bring a bottle of water to keep yourself hydrated during those intense training sessions. It's always good to have one or two drink breaks.
For the little ones, Martial Arts Gym offers a unique Kinder Karate Program. This program is specially designed to prepare children for school and to eventually transition them to the traditional karate classes. Not only does this class enhance gross and fine motor skills, but it also helps improve balance and encourages children to learn in a structured environment. The classes run for 30 minutes, providing a perfect introduction to the world of martial arts.
The Junior Karate classes are focused on building self-esteem and self-confidence in children. However, at Martial Arts Gym, they believe that fostering a sense of community is equally important. In the dojo, children are provided with a safe and encouraging environment where they can not only push themselves physically and mentally but also strive towards achieving personal goals in all aspects of their lives. Beginners (WHITE & RED belts) who have trained for 1 year participate in 45-minute classes, while novices (YELLOW & ORANGE belts) in their 2nd year of training often enjoy 60-minute classes. Intermediates (GREEN belts & beyond), usually in their 2nd or 3rd year of training, get to experience 60-minute classes as well.
Karate training isn't just for kids! Martial Arts Gym also offers Teenage to more mature (you'd be surprised!) Karate Training. It's hard work but incredibly rewarding in terms of personal development. And the best part? It's FUN! Yes, you'll learn significant self-defence techniques, improve your fitness levels, and become more flexible, but you'll also have the chance to meet new like-minded people and have a great laugh together. Beginners who've trained for 1–3 years can join the 60-minute class, while Junior Kyuu grades who've trained for 3 years or more explore a 75-minute class.
If Kickboxing is more your style, Martial Arts Gym has got you covered. Their Kickboxing classes focus on fitness and self-defence, although they don't claim to be Kru themselves or teach the Muay Thai system. The class is structured to help you progress through various levels of competency and is based on your knowledge, skill, attitude, and attendance. So grab your skipping rope, towel, and drink bottle and come dressed in loose-fitted clothing or active wear. Get ready to sweat it out for 60 minutes!
Last but certainly not least, Martial Arts Gym proudly introduces Shukokai Karate Do, also known as “The Way For All” or “Open to all,” to Emerald. Shukokai is one of the most dynamic and successful Karate schools in the world, with its roots centred in Japan. The founder of Shukokai, Tani Sensei, trained under the great karate Master Chojun MIYAGI, who was the founder of Go Ju Ryu. After World War II, Tani Sensei started teaching Karate in Kobe and eventually established his own school, Tani-Ha Shito-Ryu. Today, YAMADA Haruyoshi Sensei leads the Shukokai organisation, continuing the legacy of Master Tani.
So whether you're interested in Karate, Kickboxing, or want to introduce your little one to the world of martial arts, Martial Arts Gym in Emerald has a program for everyone. Come join the community, push your limits, and have a great time!
