Townsville Sailability

Welcome to Townsville Sailability, a sailing club dedicated to providing opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy the sport of sailing. Located in Townsville City, Queensland, our club offers a fun, relaxing, entertaining, educational, and safe environment for individuals of all abilities to experience the joy of being out on the water.

After a brief hiatus, we are thrilled to announce that we are back sailing again! Our new home is conveniently situated near the Townsville Recreational Boating Park, allowing easy access to the water. Weather permitting, we sail every Thursday morning at 9 AM. At Townsville Sailability, we understand the importance of inclusivity and support for individuals with disabilities. That's why we have registered with Containers for Change, a programme designed to promote recycling and sustainability. We encourage everyone to donate their used bottle/can deposits to our club (registration number C 10668462) and contribute to our cause.

Exciting developments are taking place at our club, and we couldn't be more grateful for the support we have received from Sailability Queensland. As we work towards securing a permanent home near the boat ramp, we hope to continue expanding our membership base and engaging more volunteers who are passionate about making a positive impact in the disability community.

Thanks to the generosity of Curtain Brothers Construction and Mr. Peter Curtain, we now have a brand new shed located right beside the recreational boating park. We recently held a working day to set up our new space, and we are actively seeking volunteers to join us in ensuring the smooth operation of our sailing activities. Whether you are interested in skippering our dinghies, providing support to our sailors, assisting at the start and end of the day, or helping with equipment maintenance, we have a role for you.

If you possess a Qld. Recreational Power Boat Licence or a Qld Blue Card for Working with Children, it would be of great value to our club.
