All trips with Top Catch Charters depart from the safe port of South Bay Marina in Kaikoura. From there, guests will enjoy a short trip to the abundant fishing grounds, surrounded by the breathtaking scenic backdrop of the Seaward Kaikoura ranges, including Mount Fyffe. Throughout the trip, guests will have the opportunity to witness impressive local wildlife in their natural habitat.
The fishing experience with Top Catch Charters is exceptional, with good catches of Perch and Blue Cod to be expected. Guests will also have the unique opportunity to assist with the checking of craypots, getting a feel for how the industry works. All fish caught by guests will be filleted on board by Skipper Malcolm and ready to take home and cook. There is even a chance of taking a crayfish home as well.
Top Catch Charters specialises in hosting fun and friendly small group fishing tours along the spectacular and rugged coastline of Kaikoura. They offer various trip durations, including 2-hour, 3-hour, and 4-hour options. The prices are per person and include 15% GST. The age limit for children is 12 years old and below, and all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for safety.
In addition to their regular fishing tours, Top Catch Charters also offers private charter options for groups of 1 to 4 people.
