The Toowoomba Mountaineers Basketball Club, located in Darling Heights, is the representative programme of the Toowoomba Basketball Association. One of the club's key initiatives is the Mini Neers programme, designed as an introduction to basketball for kids aged 6 to 14 years. The programme is split into three groups: Dribblers (6-8 years), Hoopers (9–11 years), and Rising Stars (9–14 years). Run over a 6-week period during the school term, the Mini Neers programme aims not only to build confidence in sport but also to develop better people through a unique positive choices character-based curriculum.
The Toowoomba Mountaineers also compete in various competitions at both the junior and senior levels. The Clive Berghofer Junior Mountaineers participate in the South Queensland Junior Basketball Competition (SQJBC), which is held annually for boys and girls. Additionally, they compete in the Basketball Queensland State Championships, providing young athletes with a platform to showcase their skills and abilities.
For senior players, the Clive Berghofer Senior Mountaineers play in the Queensland State League Competition, which is the elite senior representative programme for both men and women. This provides a high-level competitive environment for experienced players to further develop their basketball talents.
