Toomuc Valley Walking Group

Toomuc Valley Walking Group is a sports club located in Cardinia Shire, Australia. With a focus on promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, this group caters to walkers of all levels. The group meets every Tuesday at the rotunda on the highway opposite Toomuc Valley Road from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.

Although the group mainly consists of seniors, anyone is welcome to join. After the walk, the group enjoys a coffee together at a local café, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. The walk organiser, Alison, ensures that everyone feels welcome and included throughout the walk.

The group currently has 97 members and walks at a medium pace. The duration of each walk is approximately 45 to 60 minutes. Participants are encouraged to bring their dogs along, as the group is dog-friendly. However, the trails may not be suitable for prams or wheelchairs.

The meeting point for the group is the rotunda in the park on Princes Highway, opposite Toomuc Valley Road, Pakenham, 3810. The location provides convenient access to beautiful parklands and scenic trails, creating an enjoyable and picturesque walking experience.

Toomuc Valley Walking Group is part of a larger network of walking groups in the area. The Cardinia Wanderers Walking Group is one such group located nearby. Members have the opportunity to connect with other walkers and explore different trails within a 10 km, 20 km, 25 km, 50 km, or 100 km radius.

This sports club is proudly supported by the National Heart Foundation of Australia, emphasising the importance of regular physical activity in maintaining a healthy heart. Walking for an average of 30 minutes a day can significantly reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes by 30 to 40 percent. It also helps manage weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels, reduces the risk of developing certain cancers, and improves balance, coordination, and bone density.
