Tonbridge Judo Club, one of the longest-standing judo clubs in Kent, has been a cornerstone of the community since 1957. With a rich history of producing top-tier fighters, the club is once again thriving under the leadership of Chris Bowles, a 7th Dan and BJA coach.
With over 100 members, Tonbridge Judo Club welcomes individuals of all ages and skill levels. Junior classes target children aged 7-12, guiding them through a structured grading system. For those aged 13 and above, youth and adult classes are available, including specialised training for competitive athletes.
Judo isn't just about fitness—it's about self-defence and learning to compete fairly. The British Judo Association's grading system ensures fair competition, matching participants with opponents of similar abilities.
Safety, hygiene, and etiquette are crucial at Tonbridge Judo Club. Recognising the discipline required in a combat sport, the club maintains rigorous standards to ensure all members' well-being.
Conveniently located at Swanmead Sports Ground off Cannon Way in Tonbridge, the club invites interested individuals to contact Brenda via email or phone or reach out directly to Chris.
In light of Covid-19, the club stresses safety protocols, encouraging regular hand-washing and hand gel use. Members are asked to stay home if they test positive for Covid-19.
Proud to be part of the Tonbridge community, Tonbridge Judo Club is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for everyone to learn and excel in judo.
