Time 4 Pilates is a Pilates studio located in Reading, New Zealand. The studio is owned and operated by Christine (Chris) Brook, who discovered the benefits of Pilates after experiencing painful back problems. After leaving her career as an IT professional, Chris underwent extensive training with the internationally renowned Body Control Pilates Association and became a certified Pilates instructor in 2005.
At Time 4 Pilates, classes are held three days a week in and around Sonning Common, South Oxfordshire. The studio offers a variety of classes that are open to anyone, with a focus on complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit. In addition to general classes, Chris also runs popular ante-natal and post-natal classes for ladies.
Pilates is a form of exercise that coordinates muscle work with breathing. It strengthens the core postural muscles of the body, tones the whole body, and improves posture. The Body Control Pilates Method, on which Time 4 Pilates is based, was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. This method has been embraced by actors, dancers, and athletes who found that it complements their traditional exercise programmes and caters to their individual needs.
All classes at Time 4 Pilates are matwork based and limited to a maximum of 12 places. Participants are advised to wear comfortable workout attire and socks. The studio emphasises progressive learning, with clients being required to book and pay for full blocks of classes. Payment can be made in cash, by cheque, bank transfer, or through a contactless credit/debit card terminal.
Time 4 Pilates is committed to maintaining the highest standard of teaching and the effectiveness of the Body Control Pilates Method. Classes are held in a welcoming and supportive environment at St Michael's Catholic Church Hall in Sonning Common.
