Tigers Shotokan Karate is a physical fitness programme in St Albans, dedicated to instilling confidence, self-worth, fitness, leadership, focus, respect, self-discipline, and continuous learning through traditional Shotokan training. This programme is designed to inspire fortitude, motivation, and strength in individuals.
The programme offers a limited, one-off course that provides life-saving self-defence skills. It emphasises the importance of mental preparedness to face unexpected situations rather than physical ability. Participants will learn the necessary skills to protect themselves and their loved ones, ultimately increasing their confidence and feeling safer while walking alone at night.
The course is conducted over two days at different locations. The first day takes place at Bushey Meads School (WD23 4PA) and focuses on training. On the second day, participants move to Bushey Heath Primary School (WD23 1SP) for a scenario-based assessment. Both days run from 7:15 PM to 8:45 PM.
The course is available for 30 per person, with current students continuing at the regular Bushey fee (24 for the full course). Sensei Ben can be contacted for any payment-related queries.
The programme welcomes individuals of all fitness levels and does not require any previous training. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable loose-fitting clothing. They can also bring along a friend or family member to partner up with during the course.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be awarded a certificate of attendance.
Tigers Shotokan Karate is led by experienced Senseis who possess exceptional knowledge and ability in Shotokan Karate.
