Taekwondo, meaning 'Hand and Foot Technique,' is a Korean martial art. It was officially recognised as a martial art on April 11, 1955, by General Choi Hong Hi of Korea. The 24 patterns of ITF Taekwondo symbolise a day or the entire lifespan of mankind, highlighting the idea that in the grand scope of the universe, the human lifespan is akin to a day. Taekwondo is an inclusive art open to individuals of all genders, ages, and body types.
Training can be tailored to accommodate people with disabilities or past injuries so that everyone can benefit from the practise.
