Welcome to Thirsk Falcons Football Club! Thirsk Falcons FC is an FA Accredited Community Club, dedicated to providing quality football for all ages and genders. Our club has a strong desire to succeed at a semi-professional level. Established in 1948, the 2022/23 season marks our 75th anniversary.

Coaches Required: Are you interested in football and have some spare time to support the club in developing players? We are currently looking for coaches who would like to give back to the community and learn new skills. The club will provide funding for courses, coaches kit, DBS checks, and support from coach mentors. Read more about this opportunity on our website.

Thirsk Falcons FC takes pride in having over 30 FA and UEFA trained qualified coaches. All our coaches have undergone DBS checks, first aid training, and safeguarding children training. Among them, we have 2 UEFA B level coaches, 5+ child welfare officers, and multiple qualified age group referees. We are committed to providing pathways for all our members and players to become coaches and referees, and we cover the costs involved.
From 1948 to 1984, Thirsk Falcons FC started from humble beginnings at Sowerby Flatts and a small field next to Thirsk racecourse, which was obtained on Peppercorn rent. In 1984, our current club president, Geoff Garbutt, founded a Junior section after Thirsk High School couldn't manage a football team outside of regular school hours. The club gradually expanded its size and achieved FA Charter Community Club Status during this era. In 2017, the seniors and juniors merged to form one club, Thirsk Falcons FC.
This year, we are excited to announce our move to Sowerby Sports Village (SSV).
We have an exciting lineup of league games for our youth, senior development, senior first team, and veterans teams. Fixtures for the various leagues will be announced shortly, so make sure to stay updated on our website and social media.
