The Wing Chun School Ilford is a traditional martial arts school that prides itself on maintaining high standards in the art of Wing Chun. Located in Ilford, New Zealand, the school combines the principles of “old school” kung fu with modern methods. While they understand that martial arts have evolved over time, they still hold onto their traditions and practise in accordance with traditional Chinese etiquette.
At The Wing Chun School Ilford, the emphasis is not solely on learning the art of Wing Chun but also on guiding the martial artist on their journey of self-discovery. They believe that martial arts is a transformative experience, and they strive to help their students grow and develop beyond just physical training.
Wing Chun is a fighting system that primarily focuses on close range combat. Students at The Wing Chun School Ilford learn to strike from close contact positions with principles of efficiency and directness. In addition to unarmed combat, they also teach short and long-range weapons for a well-rounded martial arts education.
The school is located at Frenford Clubs, The Drive, Ilford IG1 3PS and Peckham Tenants Association, 75a Pennack Road, Peckham SE15 5DD. Prospective students can schedule a 30-minute visit to either location to observe classes and have their questions answered.
