Children have the opportunity to explore a wider range of dance styles at The Weston School of Dance and Performing Arts. They can continue their ballet training and also take classes in modern theatre dance, tap, and jazz. As they grow older, additional styles such as contemporary dance, musical theatre, and commercial dance become available to them.
The School aims to cater for everyone, from children to adults. Classes are offered for all ages and abilities, ensuring that there is something for everyone. Whether you are just starting out or have prior dance experience, there is a class suitable for you at The Weston School.
Classes are held in various venues throughout Chelmsford, as well as in Great Dunmow. The School provides a detailed timetable with full information on class schedules and the locations of each venue. Maps are also provided to help students find their way.
The School strongly advises that students do not purchase their dance uniform until they have settled into their classes. However, an online ordering service is available for convenience, with items being sent to the students' classes. For those joining the Ballet with your Bear Class, a simple and comfortable outfit is all that is required.
Exam sessions are held three times a year, showcasing the progress and achievements of the students. Results are published on the School's website as soon as they are received from the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). The School takes great pride in the success of its students and teachers, not only in exams but also in other aspects of their dance journey.
Temporary class changes may occur from time to time, and the School keeps students informed of any alterations through this section. Additionally, the School provides useful links that students may find helpful in their dance education and practise.
The Weston School of Dance and Performing Arts is dedicated to providing a safe environment for its students, where they can participate in activities and have fun while feeling secure. The School also offers special Ballet with your Bear classes for children aged 3 to 4 years. These classes introduce children to music and movement in a structured yet imaginative way. Through ballet-based activities, children learn to move with grace, express themselves confidently, and appreciate the beauty of dance. The classes use a wide range of music, including nursery rhymes, orchestral, and piano music, to engage and inspire young dancers.
Taking classes at The Weston School of Dance and Performing Arts not only allows students to learn and improve their dance skills but also contributes to their overall well-being.
