The Village School of Dance, formerly Surrey Academy of Ballet, is all about inspiring a love for dance and nurturing new talent. With branches in Wimbledon Village, Dorking, and Royal Tunbridge Wells, they've built a family of dancers always ready to welcome new members.
Founded by Principal Katherine in 2008, this school offers a variety of classes like Ballet, Modern, Tap, Acrobatics, and more for both kids and adults. They also have the exciting DDMIX fitness class by Darcey Bussell. Regular productions and summer schools give dancers a chance to shine.
Recently, they formed a competition team, showcasing their talents in theatres across the South East. The children’s Ballet lessons follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, and Modern and Tap classes adhere to the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance standards. Katherine and her dedicated team strive to inspire and educate dancers in all aspects.
Their venues, with ample space and rich history, are in convenient spots near charming shops and cafés in Wimbledon Village, Dorking, and Royal Tunbridge Wells. Plus, some locations even offer free parking.
Classes span from Tiny Turners for the littlest dancers to Advanced lessons for those 15 and above. They have Parent & Baby classes, Pre-School Performers, Shining Stars, Juniors, Pre-Intermediate, Seniors, and even Adult Dance Classes, covering Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz Technique, Body Conditioning, and Pointe Work.
