The Urban Factory

At a beginner level, allowing individuals of all ages and abilities to join and progress at their own pace. The Urban Factory is a non-profit community space, created from an old manufacturing factory in Hebburn, and welcomes everyone to become part of the TUF Family.

Originally opened in 2018 by North East Cheer, The Urban Factory quickly became the leading training facility for cheerleading and tumbling in the North East region. Due to the growing popularity of Parkour in the area, North East Cheer partnered with the local parkour community to add a bespoke parkour arena to the facility. This addition has allowed for a diverse range of training opportunities for individuals interested in these sports.

At The Urban Factory, the focus is on providing high-quality, fun, safe, and inclusive training for all participants. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced athlete, there is a programme suited to your needs. The facility offers beginner classes, competition opportunities, school programmes, pre-school classes, parties, and venue hire.

The Urban Factory also serves as the home of North East Cheer, an organisation that uses cheerleading as a way to engage young people in physical activity and leadership. Their cheer programmes aim to build leaders for life, instilling important values such as teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence in participants.

The facility itself is one of the largest training facilities in the country. It features various specialised areas, including a full-size competition cheerleading floor, a sprung floor for gymnastics, a matted floor for tumbling, a warm-up and stretch floor, and purpose-built parkour areas. There are also studio spaces, a café, and a viewing gallery for spectators to enjoy.
