The Tai Chi Effect – Hove is a renowned Tai Chi school located in Hove, East Sussex. With a focus on promoting health and vitality through the practise of Tai Chi, their classes cater to individuals of all ages and abilities. The school is dedicated to spreading the art of Tai Chi and its numerous benefits to the local community.

The school offers two classes on Wednesday afternoons. The first class, from 1pm to 2pm, is a Qigong class. It is taught in the beautiful Revitalise Studio on Western Road, situated on the border of Hove and Brighton. The class welcomes beginners and aims to establish a solid foundation of relaxed strength within the body.

Participants will learn simple but powerful Qigong movements and Tai Chi foundational movements. The class also covers important concepts such as weight shifting, hip level-keeping, sinking chi, standing and dissolving, as well as Qigong forms like Cloud Hands, The Marriage of Heaven and Earth, and The Willow Tree form. The 10-week term costs 90 and is held continuously throughout the year, excluding school holidays.

The second class, running from 2pm to 3pm, focuses on the Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form. Also held in the Revitalise Studio, this class emphasises health, vitality, and the healing of the back and spine. The Wu Style Short Form consists of 16 movements that can be completed in just five minutes, making it suitable for individuals with busy schedules. While it is not mandatory to attend the Qigong class, it is highly recommended as students who participate in both classes observe significant improvement compared to those who only learn the form.

The class costs 90 for a 10-week term and is open to individuals of all ages.

The Tai Chi Effect – Hove is led by a qualified Tai Chi instructor who received training from Lineage Grand Master, Bruce Frantzis. The instructor is also a certified member of The Tai Chi Union of Great Britain, ensuring a high standard of teaching. Students can expect a supportive and nurturing environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
