The Ridings

The Ridings is a professional and well-established livery yard located on Apethorpe Road in Nassington, Peterborough. Offering both full and part livery services, The Ridings prides itself on providing top-quality care for both horses and owners.

Established in 2002, the yard is owned and managed by Ann Bishop, a highly experienced horsewoman who has dedicated her life to working with horses. Ann studied at Brackenhurst College in Nottinghamshire and obtained her BHSAI qualification. She then gained further experience by working on a show jumping yard in Italy and teaching riding in the United States.

Upon returning to the UK, Ann worked at Wimbledon Village Stables, teaching riders of all levels. She also had the opportunity to own her own horse, named Spike, whom she backed, trained, and evented with great success. Spike now resides on the yard with Ann.

The Ridings offers a range of excellent facilities, including well-ventilated wooden boxes with windows, a wash down area, tack room, and storage space. The owner lives on-site, ensuring constant supervision and care for the horses. Additionally, CCTV and automated gates provide optimum security for peace of mind.

The yard also boasts a 20m × 40m all-weather, floodlit school, ideal for training and practising various disciplines. Furthermore, there is ample hard standing for horse-boxes and trailers, making it convenient for owners to transport their horses.

For hacking enthusiasts, The Ridings is surrounded by a network of local bridleways and quiet country lanes, offering countless hours of relaxing rides. Alternatively, Ann provides lessons in Dressage, Jumping, and Cross Country for those seeking a more challenging experience.

The Ridings offers both part and full livery options, with top-quality haylage, feed, and bedding provided for all horses. Part livery includes services such as mucking out, turning out and bringing in, organising and holding for farriers, vets, and dentists, as well as changing of rugs. Full livery offers additional grooming services.

In addition to livery services, The Ridings provides a variety of other services, including schooling, lunging, hacking, clipping, mane and tail pulling, trimming, and preparing and plaiting for hunting and competitions. Lessons are available for residents and non-residents alike.
