Class, please get in touch. The Pilates Project, Fife, located in St Andrews, is a Pilates studio founded by Gina Easson. With a deep passion for Pilates and its benefits, Gina aims to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for individuals of all ages and fitness levels to experience the transformative power of Pilates.
At The Pilates Project, Fife, the focus is on mat Pilates, a low-impact exercise technique that utilises controlled and precise movements to strengthen the deep stabilising muscles and lengthen the muscles, resulting in a long and lean look. These stabilising muscles play a crucial role in supporting the skeletal system, particularly the spine. The benefits of practising mat Pilates are extensive and include improved posture, increased overall muscle tone, enhanced flexibility, alleviation, and correction of back issues, improved balance and coordination, and heightened mental awareness.
Gina primarily teaches classical mat Pilates, adhering to its truest and most authentic form as intended by Joseph Pilates himself. The classes offered at The Pilates Project, Fife, can be both fast and slow paced, with the intention to work hard and even break a sweat.
Located in St Andrews, The Pilates Project, Fife, also offers classes in surrounding areas such as Cupar, Newport-on-Tay, Tayport, Gauldry, Luthrie, Blebo Craigs, and Kingskettle, making it convenient for individuals residing in Fife and near Dundee in Scotland, UK.
Gina Easson, the founder of The Pilates Project, Fife, has been teaching classical mat Pilates in the Fife area since 2012 and is deeply passionate about the practise. Her journey into Pilates began after experiencing back issues during her pregnancies. Pilates proved to be a transformative solution for her, not only alleviating her back problems but also strengthening her body for running and cycling, which she enjoys. Gina holds an MA in food and welfare studies and worked in the food industry for 15 years before deciding to pursue her passion for Pilates.
To deepen her understanding and enhance her teaching skills, Gina completed a level 3 classical mat Pilates teaching diploma with Classical Pilates UK in Troon and also went through foundation, level 1, and level 2 Corpus Pilates training. She continues to expand her knowledge and stay up to date with the latest developments in Pilates by participating in various Zoom classes, workshops, and training days conducted by renowned Pilates teachers. Gina's commitment to ongoing learning ensures that her clients receive the best possible Pilates experience.
Outside of her Pilates practise, Gina is highly active and enjoys outdoor activities such as running, cycling, hill walking, and camping during the summer months. She finds that Pilates greatly contributes to her overall fitness, enabling her to excel in her chosen pursuits.
