The Pelican Centre has a rich history, starting as the 950-seat Majestic Cinema in 1923. It was transformed into Tyldesley Swimming Pool in 1964 and faced closure in 2011. However, thanks to the efforts of a local community group, the centre was saved and continues to thrive today.
