The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) in Tunbridge Wells is a leading performing arts school located at the Skinners Kent Academy. We offer a range of classes for kids and young adults in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre (singing & dancing), and Film & Television. Our academy is known for providing outstanding tuition and unique experiences to our students, helping them build confidence and grow as performers.

One of our main achievements is our impressive 100% pass rate in Trinity Group Examinations, with most students receiving Distinctions. We also offer the opportunity for students to take optional solo exams, which can earn them UCAS points. Many of our students have gone on to launch successful careers in the performing arts industry, securing roles in West End shows such as Matilda, popular soaps like Eastenders, feature films, commercials, and other TV and radio work.

Our academy operates on Saturdays, with morning and afternoon sessions available, as well as a special programme called Poppets for younger children. We are located at The Skinners Kent Academy, on Blackhurst Lane in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Our talented team at PQA Tunbridge Wells includes Principal Verity Rae-Martin, who has over 20 years of experience in the industry as a singer and actor on stage and screen. We also have Vice Principal Rosie, who is currently studying at Bird College to achieve a degree in Musical Theatre and professional dance. Additionally, our team consists of experienced teachers and assistants, such as Holly, Tyler, Emma, Courtney, and James, who bring their expertise and passion to each class and performance.

At PQA Tunbridge Wells, we offer modules in Musical Theatre, where students learn singing, dancing, and acting skills. We also provide comprehensive education in Film & Television, making us the largest provider of such education in the UK for under 18s. Our Comedy & Drama lessons teach students about theatrical forms and help them develop theatrical skills.

As an added benefit, we offer PQA Live, which allows us to continue classes virtually in the event of national and/or localised lockdowns, bad weather, pandemics, or a lack of venue availability.
