Kellie Taylor, the Principal of The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Halifax, extends a warm hello to all members of the sports community. Kellie leads the academy with a steadfast commitment to nurturing young talent in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre, and Film & Television. Classes are available for kids and young adults, designed to foster both personal and creative growth.
The academy operates every Saturday, with morning sessions running from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm. Additionally, there is a dedicated programme called Poppets for younger children, which runs from 9:45 am to 11:30 am. All classes are held at North Halifax Grammar School, located on Moorbottom Road in Illingworth, Halifax.
The fee structure is straightforward: £92.00 per calendar month for primary students, £69.00 for sibling students, and £46.00 for Poppets students. The academy aims to make performing arts education accessible and offers sibling discounts and flexible payment options to accommodate various financial situations.
Kellie is supported by a dedicated team of experienced professionals, including Macey, Dylan, Meadow, Jimmy, Josh, and Holly. Each member specialises in different areas of performing arts, ensuring high-quality training for the students.
The academy offers a range of modules, including singing, dancing, and acting in Musical Theatre classes, as well as focused education in Film & Television and Comedy & Drama. To ensure continuous learning, PQA Halifax provides PQA Live, a virtual teaching platform that can be utilised during lockdowns or other disruptions. Students also have the unique opportunity to perform in top West End theatres and can pursue RSL PQA qualifications, rewarding their progress.
Kellie and her team are dedicated to fostering creativity and confidence, helping each student to reach their full potential. They look forward to continuing to support young performers in pursuing their dreams in the performing arts industry.
