The Academy is located at Watermoor C of E Primary School, providing a safe and convenient space for students to learn and grow. Classes are held on Sunday mornings from 09:45 to 13:00, allowing students to balance their performing arts education with their school commitments.
PQA Cirencester takes pride in their diverse team of instructors, who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the students. Principal Marie Stimson-Machers leads the team, with a background in Film & Television and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Drama & Contemporary Studies. She is dedicated to guiding each student on their personal journey and ensuring they have access to exciting projects and performance opportunities.
The Academy offers three main modules: Musical Theatre, Film & Television, and Comedy & Drama. In the Musical Theatre classes, students learn singing, dancing, and acting techniques, developing their skills in all aspects of musical theatre performance. The Film & Television module focuses on providing a comprehensive education in these industries, giving students an understanding of the technical and creative aspects of film and television production. The Comedy & Drama module introduces students to different theatrical forms and teaches them the essentials of comedic performance.
In addition to the core modules, PQA Cirencester offers added benefits to its members. PQA Live, the virtual academy, allows for continuous learning and engagement even during challenging times such as national or local lockdowns. Students also have the opportunity to perform at top West End theatres, experiencing the thrill and buzz of being on stage. PQA Cirencester is also part of the RSL PQA qualifications programme, which rewards students for their progress and achievements.
