Jenny Berrisford, the organiser of PQA Chester, wants the sports community to know about her performing arts academy in Handbridge, Chester. The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Chester, or PQA Chester, offers classes in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre, and Film & TV for kids and young adults aged 4 to 18.
Jenny and her team run the sessions every Saturday from 9:45 am to 1:00 pm or 1:45 pm to 5:00 pm at The Catholic High School Chester on Old Wrexham Road. They’ve got classes for all age groups, including Poppets for the little ones. The academy's flexible schedule means there’s something for everyone.
A great feature at PQA Chester is the free taster session. It's a fantastic way for kids to try out the classes before joining. Fees are quite reasonable: primary students at £92.00 per month, sibling students at £69.00 per month, and Poppets at £46.00 per month.
Jenny's team is full of enthusiastic and experienced teachers. Whether it’s Sophie, Jasmine, Steph, Rebecca, Amy, Tom, or Kiya, each of them brings something special to the table. Even Sue, the Poppets teacher, makes sure the youngest ones have a great time.
At PQA Chester, students get to explore singing, dancing, acting, filmmaking, and scriptwriting. They also have perks like virtual classes through PQA Live if there are any disruptions like lockdowns or bad weather. Plus, the academy offers opportunities to perform in top West End theatres and earn recognised qualifications through RSL.
So, if your kids are keen on performing arts, Jenny and her team at PQA Chester have got you covered with a supportive environment to help them shine.
