The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Bristol is a renowned performing arts school located in Cotham, Bristol. With a focus on Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre, and Film & Television, the academy offers a wide range of classes for children and young adults.
Led by Principal Carly Bond, the academy is committed to providing outstanding performing arts training that not only develops skills but also builds confidence and allows students to have fun along the way. The academy offers diverse and challenging modules designed to engage and excite students, ensuring that there is never a dull moment.

Throughout the year, the academy offers exciting opportunities for students to showcase their skills. The AM academy rehearse for a West End Show, the Friday academy performs an immersive re-telling of the beloved Alice in Wonderland story, and the Saturday PM academy creates and produces short films for a cinema screening in May 2024. These performances and projects provide valuable real-world experience and allow students to apply their training and showcase their talents.
Additionally, the academy offers Poppets classes, where young children can explore themed sessions while developing their performing arts skills and confidence. These classes provide a fun and supportive introduction to the world of performing arts for the youngest members of the academy.
The academy's opening times are as follows: Friday PM (17:15 – 20:30), Saturday AM (9:45 – 13:00), Poppets (9:45 – 11:15), Poppets 2 (11:30 – 13:00), and Saturday PM (13:45 – 17:00). The academy is located at Cotham School, Cotham Lawn Road, Cotham, Bristol, BS6 6DT.

The academy proudly introduces its dedicated team of professionals who bring their expertise and passion to their roles. The team includes individuals such as JACK, a Film & TV Assistant who is a recent graduate of Screenology Film School, AMBER, a Teaching Assistant and recent graduate of Bristol Institute of Performing Arts with a Musical Theatre background, and LILLIAN, a Poppets Assistant who is a theatre facilitator and director dedicated to working with young children and local communities.
Ellese, the academy's Vice Principal, is a former student of PQA Bristol and has been with the academy since its opening. She now shares her passion and knowledge as a Musical Theatre teacher. AMBER continues to bring her expertise as a Film & TV teacher, having studied sound for film and television at dBs Music.
