

The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts Beverley, located in Beverley, New Zealand, is a renowned performing arts group and dance school. With a focus on providing high-quality performing arts tuition, the academy offers classes in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre (singing & dancing), and Film & Television for children and young adults from ages 4 to 18.
Operating every Saturday from 09:45 – 13:00 and 13:45 – 17:00, PQA Hull welcomes students from various areas including Hull, Willerby, Kirk Ella, West Ella, Barton upon Humber, Swanland, North Ferriby, Cottingham, and Hessle. The academy aims to create a fun, safe, and happy environment where students can build confidence, learn essential life skills, and make lifelong friendships.
As the principal of PQA Hull, James Aconley is incredibly passionate about providing the best performing arts education. He believes in offering up-to-date and professional training to enhance the students' skills and talents. With a dedicated team of experienced teachers, including Adam (Academy Manager), Elise (Academy Assistant), Phoebe (Academy Assistant), Natalie (Vice Principal), Hannah (Vice Principal/ Comedy & Drama), Polly (Musical Theatre), Killian (Film & TV), and Tiegan (Poppets), PQA Hull ensures each student receives individual attention and guidance.
The academy offers a range of modules, including Musical Theatre, which combines singing, dancing, and acting; Film & Television, where students explore the world of film and television production; and Comedy & Drama, which teaches theatrical forms and techniques.
In addition to quality training, PQA Hull also provides added benefits to its members. In the event of national and/or localised lockdowns, bad weather, pandemics, or lack of venue availability, the academy runs virtual sessions called PQA Live. This ensures that students can continue their performing arts education even in challenging circumstances. PQA also offers opportunities for students to perform at top West End theatres, providing them with an incredible experience and exposure to the professional performing arts industry.
Furthermore, PQA Hull celebrates the progress of its students by offering RSL PQA qualifications and organises regular masterclasses to enhance their skills further.
For those interested in joining the academy, there are different fee structures based on the student's age and programme. Primary students pay 92. 00 per calendar month, siblings pay 69. 00 per calendar month, and Poppets students pay 46.
