They have had the privilege of working with elite performers from various sports backgrounds, including the Welsh National Rugby Team, London Wasps and Harlequins Rugby Clubs, and professional racing car drivers, among others. Founded in 2014, The Loft Pilates Studio was born out of a desire to prioritise the needs and experiences of clients over the number of participants in a class. Today, The Loft prides itself on being a “People led Pilates studio. ” Sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals, allowing their bodies to dictate the pace and intensity of the workout. The Loft aims to create an inclusive and safe space where clients can move freely and comfortably.
Founder Sarah Jacobs, with her extensive experience in International Rugby, has brought a strong focus on body biomechanics and alignment to The Loft's methodology. By addressing and correcting existing movement patterns, imbalances in the body can be alleviated, resulting in improved performance and reduced aches and pains.
The Loft Pilates Studio offers a range of session options to cater to different preferences and requirements. For those who prefer to train with a friend or family member, Duet 2:1 sessions are available. These semi-private sessions allow for a personalised approach and the use of all equipment in the studio. Private 1:1 sessions provide the ultimate training environment, perfect for beginners or individuals returning to Pilates after a break.
They are also highly recommended for those rehabilitating post-injury. If you prefer a hands-on small group experience, The Loft offers Reformer classes. For beginners, it is recommended to start with a 1:1 session before joining a group class. Additionally, The Loft offers specialised pre and postnatal classes for expectant and new mothers.
Located in Wandsworth Common, The Loft Pilates Studio can be found in the Old Station House building at No. 4 Jaggard Way. While the studio is parallel to Platform 1 of Wandsworth Common train station, the entrance is through Jaggard Way. When arriving at Wandsworth Common overground station, simply leave via the exit at Platform 1 and turn left.
Look for a set of red double doors and a single red door with the number 4, along with a small sign. Studio 2 is conveniently located directly opposite Platform 1 of the station, and free parking is available on the forecourt outside.
