The Ice Shed

The Ice Shed is an ice skating instructor in Oshawa, offering a variety of programs for all ages and skill levels. Located at the Tribute Communities Centre on Rink 2, The Ice Shed is dedicated to providing a fun and non-overwhelming environment for skaters to learn and improve their skills.

The Learn to Skate programs at The Ice Shed utilize small class sizes and experienced qualified instructors to ensure the best results. With a limit of 5 skaters per class, each skater receives personal instruction to help them achieve their goals. The Pre-Skate program is designed for children aged 2 to 3 years old, offering a 15-minute class to help them gain balance and comfort on the ice.

For older beginners, the Beginner Learn to Skate program (Level 1&2) is a 30-minute class focusing on the basics of skating. The Advanced Learn to Skate program (Level 2/3/4) is a 45-minute class that covers more advanced skating techniques. Adults can also participate in the Adult Learn to Skate program on Saturday mornings.

In addition to Learn to Skate programs, The Ice Shed also offers Hockey programs for children aged 3 to 12 years old. The Learn to Play Hockey program introduces shooting and stickhandling skills while improving skating abilities. The Hockey Skills program focuses on skating, stickhandling, and shooting to create well-rounded hockey players.

All participants in Ice Shed programs are required to wear CSA Certified helmets, with face masks recommended for additional safety. The Ice Shed winter programs will begin on January 6th, 2024, with registration available on their website or by contacting them directly.
