About

Join the Guildford Fencing Club in Surrey, a welcoming spot for both seasoned fencers and those new to the sport. Located at St. Peter's School in Merrow, the club meets on Friday evenings during term time, making it easy for fencers from West Surrey and East Hampshire to join in.

Whether you're from Surbiton, Woking, Aldershot, Farnborough, Cobham, Weybridge, Leatherhead, Cranleigh, or Godalming, the Guildford Fencing Club has a place for you. Newcomers can take beginners courses for U13s, teenagers, and adults; these start in the second week of each term. No prior experience or equipment is needed, as the club provides everything under the guidance of experienced instructors.

For more seasoned fencers, there’s no need to enrol, but beginners and junior fencers should sign up using the provided form due to possible waiting lists. Proper protective clothing is required for all sessions after 8 PM, except for beginners, to ensure everyone's safety.

Beyond regular training, the club hosts competitions throughout the year, with events in sabre, foil, and epee. It’s a great chance to show your skills and compete with other members.

The club also offers various resources for members, including detailed results from the past decade, winners of club competitions over 30 years, laundry tips, previous newsletters, and a collection of fencing photos.

Guildford Fencing Club, managed by Tim Schofield, values your privacy and adheres to data protection regulations. Tim ensures the website is up-to-date and invites any questions or clarifications.
