Chris, the organiser at The Gryphon Bowls Club in Harlow, welcomes players of all levels to join a vibrant community.
From April to September, members enjoy mixed friendly matches on weekends, internal competitions, and a range of social events. Wednesday nights at The Gryphon are for coaching and practice—ideal for honing skills and making new connections. Additionally, leagues cater to both men and women throughout the week and weekend, with a senior citizens midweek mixed league included.
Chris also arranges two annual tours, one in February and another in June, offering a chance to play in new locations and face different clubs. Members can access the club from 11 am until dusk, taking advantage of the 12 available rinks.
During the winter months, the club shifts focus to Short Mat bowls inside the pavilion. Roll-ups take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and Friday evenings. Internal leagues and competitions are held on Wednesday evenings, ensuring year-round engagement.
Located at the Latton Bush Centre on Southern Way, The Gryphon Bowls Club is inclusive, welcoming players of all ages and abilities. There is even a Saturday morning club for those under 18 and youngsters with extra needs.
