Studying, Emma had the opportunity to perform in various professional productions and even landed a role in the West End musical “Cats”. After graduating, Emma continued to nurture her love for dance and theatre by teaching at different dance schools and colleges in NZ.
With her extensive experience and passion, Emma founded The Edge Dance and Theatre School in Dartford. As the principal, she brings a fresh and modern approach to dance education, ensuring that her students receive the highest standard of training.
Emma is supported by a team of dedicated and talented teachers, all of whom are working professionals in the industry. They bring their expertise and knowledge to the classroom, creating a vibrant and up-to-date learning environment.
The school offers a wide range of classes to cater to dancers of all abilities. From ballet, tap, hip hop, modern, pointe, contemporary, to singing and musical theatre, there is something for everyone. The school also has competition teams that participate in national competitions and performances throughout the year.
One of the highlights of The Edge is their annual showcase called “Vibe”. This showcase allows all students to shine on stage and dazzle their friends and family. In the past, the showcase has taken place at prestigious venues like The Orchard Theatre and The Miskin Theatre in Dartford.
The school also emphasises the importance of examinations and provides ISTD syllabus training in Modern, Ballet, and Tap. These examinations are optional but offer valuable learning and personal growth opportunities for students.
To further enrich their dance education, students at The Edge have the chance to participate in masterclasses and workshops led by industry professionals. This gives them the opportunity to learn from the best in the business and gain valuable insights and advice.
The Edge Dance and Theatre School is fortunate to have its own studio complex, providing students with top-notch facilities. The complex consists of two large mirrored studios, a vocal room, a green room for relaxation, and spacious changing areas and toilets.
Term dates for the school are announced well in advance, allowing parents and students to plan their schedules accordingly. The school also offers summer clubs during the holidays to keep students engaged and active.
