Under the expert leadership of Miss Jane Hansford, a former professional dancer and esteemed I.D. teacher, the school offers an extensive array of classes ranging from Ballet and Tap to Acrobatic Arts and Musical Theatre.

Founded in the late '70s as part of the renowned Ivy Baker Dance Schools, the Colchester branch has a rich history and a reputation for excellence. Today, over 200 students train in a professionally built studio within Stanway Secondary School and a new branch in Earls Colne, ensuring ample space and facilities for all.

Miss Jane's dedicated approach ensures that every student receives top-tier training, with opportunities to take ISTD examinations from Primary to Advanced levels. The well-rounded curriculum also includes Commercial Jazz and Body Conditioning, preparing students for full-time dance colleges. Former students have secured spots at prestigious institutions like Urdang, Bird, and Rambert, and many have gone on to successful careers in the dance world.

Every year, the school boasts ISTD exams and holds biennial large-scale productions at Charter Hall, offering students the thrill of performing on a big stage.
