The Carp Society – Horseshoe Lake, located in Lechlade, UK, is a premier carp fishing club founded in 1981. James, the dedicated organiser, has ensured the club promotes carp angling brilliantly for 40 years.
James and The Carp Society have kept up with the sport's commercialisation, offering some of the finest fisheries in the UK. Horseshoe Lake, one of their top waters, is known for its top-notch facilities and is the go-to spot in the region. Situated on the borders of Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, the 62-acre lake has 75 swims and carp averaging 21 lbs, with a record catch of 41 lbs.
James prioritises member enjoyment and safety, meeting all anglers on their first visit. The club also manages other excellent fisheries like Ashmead in Somerset, Farriers Lake in the Cotswold Water Park, and Little Farriers for private bookings. Ashmead boasts mirror carp over 50 lbs and common carp over 40 lbs, while Farriers Lake offers an average catch of 30 lbs.
To fish at any of these lakes, you need to become a member. Membership is annual at £25 and easy to sign up for. The Carp Society, with James at the helm, invites all carp anglers to join and support their mission to grow the sport.
