The BSC AquaStars is an artistic swimming team located in Nottingham, England. As a part of Bramcote Swimming Club, they compete at both local and national levels. Artistic swimming, also known as synchronised swimming, is a sport that combines athleticism with grace in the water. It requires strength, endurance, flexibility, artistry, precision, and exceptional breath control underwater.
Artistic swimmers build their stamina similar to speed swimmers, choreograph routines like dancers, perform lifts like cheerleaders, execute dives like divers, and enhance their flexibility like gymnasts. The AquaStars also emphasise the importance of teamwork and building lasting friendships.
If you have an interest in swimming, diving, dancing, gymnastics, cheerleading, or performing, the BSC AquaStars may be the perfect fit for you. Participating in this sport offers numerous benefits, including physical fitness, a feeling of well-being, confidence development, a sense of discipline and positive attitude, learning how to deal with success and failure, and the development of social skills through teamwork.
The Bramcote AquaStars were established in 2014 by Lenka Tanner, a former artistic swimmer and Swim England Artistic Swimming Coach. The team is affiliated with Swim England, Swim East Midlands, and Swim Nottinghamshire. The AquaStars train at various locations, including Bramcote Leisure Centre, the University of Nottingham, Harvey Hadden Sports Village, West Bridgeford School, and The Lenton Centre swimming pools.
The club has three main aims: athletic, mental, and social. They aim to teach, promote, and compete in artistic swimming at different levels, encourage swimmers to strive for individual success while building a team mentality, and provide a safe, welcoming, and friendly environment for girls and boys during their formative years.
If you are interested in joining as a swimmer, coach, or volunteer, reach out to the AquaStars via email at bscaquastars@hotmail. Com. Simply fill out an enquiry form on their website, and they will get in touch.
