Theatrix Dance Centre, located in Ringwood, is a vibrant and inclusive dance school that offers a wide range of classes for dancers of all ages and skill levels. With a focus on fostering creativity, building self-confidence, and developing technical proficiency, Theatrix aims to provide students with a well-rounded education in dance that extends beyond just the studio.
Led by the talented and experienced Principal, Brooke Synnott, who has over 20 years of experience as a performer and dance teacher, Theatrix is committed to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for its students. Brooke, a graduate of the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts, has appeared in leading Australian musicals and brings her passion for the arts into her teaching.
Classes at Theatrix go beyond classical ballet and include a variety of styles such as tap, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, hip hop, cali-ballet (a special ballet class for students from callisthenics clubs), acrobatics, pointe, kinder dance, stretch and body conditioning, pilates, as well as private and duo lessons. Theatrix is also affiliated with Regent Callisthenics, providing students with additional opportunities to explore their talents.
For students interested in dance competitions, Theatrix offers private lessons from term two onwards to learn solos and duos in their preferred styles. The school has a strong track record of success in Melbourne's most recognised dance eisteddfods and believes that the opportunity to perform regularly and receive one-on-one training enhances students' technical development and confidence.
Every year, Theatrix holds an end-of-year concert where students have the chance to showcase their skills and perform on a professionally-equipped stage in front of their loved ones. This concert serves as a celebratory culmination of their hard work and progress throughout the year and allows families to come together and appreciate their children's achievements.
Theatrix provides a clear timetable and fee structure to ensure transparency and convenience for its students and their families. Discounts are offered for multiple classes per week, and fees are due by the end of the third week of each term. The school also emphasises that age groups are determined based on students' ages as of December 31, 2023, and offers the option for an assessment for acrobatics classes to determine suitability.
With a commitment to excellence in dance education and a passion for fostering the growth and development of its students, Theatrix Dance Centre is a fantastic choice for those seeking a nurturing and supportive environment to explore their love for dance. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, Theatrix welcomes you to come and try their classes for free before deciding if it's the right fit for you and your family. Enrolments for 2023 are now open, so don't miss out on the opportunity to embark on a journey of self-expression and artistic growth at Theatrix Dance Centre.
