About
The Anita Gunn School of Dance in Heathfield, Broad Oak, East Sussex, has been a prominent institution since 1990, specialising in the Cecchetti method of ballet. Under the leadership of Mrs. Anita Gunn, the school is known for its impressive student exam results.
Mrs. Anita Gunn, trained by the renowned Betty Vacani, combines her love for dance and teaching to offer a dynamic programme. In 2011, Mrs. Ginny Coyle, a qualified instructor from the Royal Academy of Dance, Bush Davies, and London Contemporary Dance School, joined her.
The school offers various classes including Adult Ballet, Primary, Grade II, III, IV, VI, and Contemporary for secondary school students. Detailed schedules can be found on their website.
To uphold ballet’s professionalism and discipline, the school enforces a strict uniform policy. Primary and Standard I students wear pink leotards and skirts, while advanced levels wear black leotards and tights. Pointe shoe consultations are available with Mrs. Gunn or Mrs. Coyle.
Fees for the autumn term are £55 for one class (11 sessions) and £90 for two classes (22 sessions). Payments are required at the start of each term or in halves at each half-term’s start.
