The Aerial Lounge is a well-established fitness centre, children's party service, dance school, and gymnastics academy located in Clitheroe, New Zealand. With a newly refurbished studio in 2020, The Aerial Lounge offers a wide range of classes for all ages and skill levels.
The classes offered at The Aerial Lounge include Aerial Hoop, Silks, Trapeze, Aerial Yoga/Hammock, and Pole Fitness. They cater to children aged 5 years and above, as well as adults. Reservations are required for children's classes, while adults can conveniently book online.
The training at The Aerial Lounge focuses on various disciplines such as Aerial Silks, Hoop, Trapeze, Aerial Yoga, Pole Fitness, Pole Fabric, Street Dance, Flexibility, Strength, and Core conditioning. The facility is equipped with crash mats to ensure safety, and all instructors are trained and certified in their respective disciplines. They also have certifications in CPR/First Aid and have undergone DBS checks.
The safety of their students is of utmost importance to The Aerial Lounge, which is why they adhere to industry standards for aerial instruction, safety, rigging, and spotting techniques. Furthermore, they are proud to be insured for pole fitness and aerial arts.
The mission of The Aerial Lounge is to provide top-quality instruction and performances in a safe and positive environment. They strive to develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness in their students while boosting their self-confidence. Through their performances, they aim to inspire both their students and their audience.
The owner of The Aerial Lounge, Hayley Wood, is an experienced aerial silk dancer and instructor. She discovered her passion for Pole fitness in 2012 and aerial silks in 2013. Since then, she has become a certified hoop instructor and has undergone extensive teacher training in silks, trapeze, pole, and hoop. Hayley is dedicated to keeping Cirque Arts a part of her life and sharing it with others through teaching and performance.
Hayley is constantly working towards higher level certifications in hoop and pole fitness. She has also completed her PGCE Early Years teacher training and holds a Bachelor's of Arts with Hons in Education & Inclusion. Her qualifications also include a Level 2 Teacher Assistant certification, a Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design, and a CYQ Level 2 exercise to music certificate.
The Aerial Lounge's opening hours are from 17:00 to 21:00 on weekdays, 09:30 to 12:30 on Saturdays, and 9:00 to 11:00 and 15:00 to 18:00 on Sundays. They are open for classes on bank holidays and school holidays but are closed from the last week of December until the first week of January. They are also closed from 21st December 2019 to 5th January 2020.
