The Ice Factor is thrilled to announce its 18th season of the local Ice Skating event in York, North England. If you have a passion for gliding gracefully on ice, then this is the place to be! With the largest outdoor ice rink in the area, covering an impressive 975 sq m of real ice, you'll have plenty of room to showcase your skating talents.
But it's not just about the ice. The event offers a truly enchanting experience, with illuminated trees creating a picturesque ambiance. And we're excited to introduce a new outdoor terrace at our rinkside café, known as 'The Chalet.' Imagine sipping on a festive drink while enjoying the thrill of skating from this cosy spot.
When you arrive, simply check in at the box office and head over to our skate hire marquee. Our friendly staff will be on hand to assist you in getting fitted with the perfect pair of skates. And for our younger skaters, we offer Bobo the Penguin and Buddy the Snowman stabilisers, which can be hired on a first come first served basis from the box office.
Once you're on the ice, prepare yourself for some serious fun! Whether you're a seasoned skater or just starting out, The Ice Factor offers a variety of special times and prices for Parents Toddlers, Clubs, and Schools. We strive to make sure everyone can enjoy the thrill of ice skating.
And for those who prefer to stay off the ice, we've got something for you too! Our event features a funfair with plenty of rides and games to keep the excitement going.
We're proud to share that The Ice Factor has been recognised as one of the Top 10 Christmas Ice Rinks nationwide by The Sun, The Guardian, and The Times. In addition, we have won various awards, including the Vsit York Tourism Visitor Attraction of the Year (under 50,000 visitors) in 2010, 2012, and 2015, as well as the Family Friendly Experience award in 2017.
