The Calgary Chess Club is thrilled to announce The Bobby Fischer Memorial 2024, a chess tournament happening on Tuesday evenings starting from May 28th to June 25th. This exciting event will take place at CCC's spacious location in The Palma Centre, offering a Swiss format competition with 5 rounds and a Classic 90/30 time control. With two sections available - Premier for players with ratings of 1300 plus and Future Masters for players up to 1499 - there's a spot for everyone to showcase their skills.
Participants can secure their spot by paying the entry fee of $49 for regular adults and $44 for juniors under 20. Make sure to take advantage of the early bird discount to save some bucks. Titled players with a NM and above are eligible for a special rate. To be part of the action, don't forget to have your current memberships in both CFC and CCC.
The tournament promises guaranteed prizes of at least $200 for the Premier section, so bring your A-game every round. Suitable for players of all levels, rounds will kick off on May 28th at 7:00 pm sharp. Have a specific section in mind? Let CCC know in advance for proper arrangements.
For any questions or clarifications, don't hesitate to reach out to Zeeshan Munir or Bhavik Dave - both seasoned organizers in the chess community. Your safety and enjoyment are CCC's top priorities, so rest assured that the event will follow all necessary guidelines and procedures. Secure your spot and membership through the Calgary Chess Club website and get ready to battle it out on the chessboard!
