Karate Christchurch is excited to announce the Term One Grading event happening on April 6th and 7th at 8 Phillips Street, Phillipstown. This event is a chance for students who have been putting in the hard work during the term to showcase their skills and discipline.
Saturday will kick off with training sessions for white to yellow/orange belt students. The first group will start their registration and grading training at 10am, while the second group will begin at 12pm. On Sunday, the grading will commence with the first group at 9am (white to yellow/orange belts), followed by the second group (orange 1 and above). Parents are welcome to come along and witness their child's progress during the grading.
During the grading, students will need to demonstrate their understanding of the grading syllabus for their level. This includes basics, techniques, posture, and the powerful kiai shout. Kata and Kumite, two essential components of Karate, will be evaluated to assess students' strengths and weaknesses.
For Junior grades under 15, there are specific requirements regarding the number of classes attended between gradings. Blue and brown belts have the opportunity to grade every six months, while students aiming for black belt at the Shodan Ho level must have been training for a minimum of 1 year.
Interested participants should speak to their Sensei to secure an invite to the event. The cost includes Saturday training for up to brown belt. Don't miss this chance to showcase your Karate skills and dedication at the Term One Grading event!
