Join the action at Teretonga Park Raceway, the pride of the Southland Sports Car Club. Situated just 8 km west of Invercargill on Oreti Beach, it's the southernmost FIA-approved track in the world.
Teretonga Park is 2.62 km of thrilling turns and straights, all on a bitumen surface. Saloons and enclosed sports cars can line up 42 strong, while single-seaters and open-wheelers have a grid limit of 34. To keep things civil, the track enforces a noise cap of 95dBA.
First revving up in the 1940s, the Southland Sports Car Club has a legacy rich with motorsport history. Teretonga Park itself opened in 1957 and has seen legendary racers tear up the track. Every year, the circuit hosts top-tier events, including the prestigious New Zealand Grand Prix and the annual Classic Car meet every February.
The venue also supports sprints, motorkhanas, and a variety of club events, making it a bustling hub for motorsport.
Facilities are top-notch: there's limited power in the pit paddock (organise this through the Admin Office), and you'll find food and drinks on hand during race and practice days.
Southland Sports Car Club is always keen for new members and volunteers. If you're passionate about motorsport, Teretonga Park Raceway is the place to be. For more details, check out their website or get in touch via email or phone.
