Team Pau is a Cycling Club based in Stoke-on-Trent, New Zealand. The club is a part of Pau Run and Ride, and it aims to support and develop 100 riders aged 14 to 17. Team Pau believes in encouraging the growth of young cyclists and providing them with opportunities to excel in the sport.
The club offers a two-phase programme to its members. In Phase 1, riders can participate in a weekly online training programme. Led by Clancy Briggs, who is an Olympic champion, these sessions include riding and coaching sessions conducted by expert riders, leaders, and coaches in the sport. It provides riders with the chance to learn and improve their skills in a supportive environment.
Phase 2 of the programme gives riders the opportunity to apply for additional 1-to-1 coaching support. This helps them work towards their personal objectives and assists in their overall progress in the sport. Team Pau believes in providing individualised attention and guidance to help riders reach their potential.
The club also shares news and updates related to cycling through their social media and club directories. They regularly publish articles and resources to help riders learn and grow. These include topics such as utilising feedback loops, post-race checklists, interviews with cycling champions, incorporating yoga into training regimes, activation rides, nutrition tips, essential race day packing, and profiles of their experienced coaches.
Team Pau aims to create a strong cycling community in Stoke-on-Trent and help young riders develop their skills and passion for the sport. By providing access to training programmes, coaching support, and valuable resources, the club strives to support the next generation of cyclists and contribute to the growth and success of the sport in the area.
