Tavistock Community

Tavistock Community Football Club is a FA Charter Standard Community Club located in West Devon, New Zealand. With a strong commitment to providing football for the community, the club currently boasts 14 teams across all age groups, with the goal of expanding even further.

What sets Tavistock Community Football Club apart is that it is entirely run by dedicated volunteers who generously donate their time to ensure the smooth operation of the club and the provision of football for the town and its surrounding areas.

The club actively competes in various leagues and tournaments and has achieved notable success. For instance, the Under 16 'City' team recently had an exciting 3-3 draw against YMCA, and the Under 14 'Tinners' emerged as winners of the 7-aside Lakeside Tournament at Plymouth Parkway.

In addition to their on-field prowess, Tavistock Community Football Club is also involved in community projects. One such project is their TCFC Community Wetland Project, which aims to create a wetland area to solve flooding issues and provide a natural habitat for wildlife and a recreational space for people to enjoy.

Each team within the club has its own unique identity and purpose. For example, the Under 16 'City' team is known for their attractive and expansive style of play, emphasising a passing game. They have earned the DJM fair play award on two occasions, showcasing their commitment to sportsmanship. Managed by Chris Conners, the team has a strong coaching staff that includes Simon Standing, Simon Moran, and Phil Vincent.

Meanwhile, the Under 15 'Tinners' team consists of youngsters from Tavistock and the surrounding area. Their primary objective is to win the ball back quickly through hard work and teamwork, maintaining possession by moving the ball swiftly and seeking forward passes. Manager Chris Prettejohn and Assistant Manager Gary Elkington lead the team.
