Taranaki Dragons

Taranaki Dragons is a dragon boat club based in Waitara, paddling on the Waitara River in the summer season. The club supports a mixed team and competes locally, nationally and internationally, with opportunities in both standard 20-man boats and small 10-man boats. New paddlers aged 12 and over are welcome, and people can also learn the sweep role (steering the boat). Suitable for recreation, fitness, social sport and competition-minded members.
