The club recently celebrated the grand opening of its new bridge club building, with the mayor, Kirsten Wise, cutting the ribbon at the entrance. Attendees had the pleasure of enjoying the beautiful Hawke's Bay weather during the event. The construction of the new building was made possible by the generous support of key sponsors, including the Lotteries Commission.
Taradale Bridge Club hosts a variety of bridge sessions throughout the week. On Mondays, there are sessions at 9:30am sponsored by Princess Alexandra Retirement Villlage, and at 7:00pm sponsored by Falcon Fire & Safety. Tuesdays feature a session at 1:15pm sponsored by Pak'nSAVE, Tamatea. Wednesdays offer a session at 7:00pm sponsored by Michaela Vodanovich Game Changer.
On Thursdays, there is a session at 9:30am sponsored by Chemist Warehouse.
For those who are new to bridge or want to improve their skills, Taradale Bridge Club offers lessons. The club is running a programme called Mini Bridge, which is a new and exciting way to learn the game. The focus of the programme is on card play, with theory coming later. Lessons run weekly until the programme is successfully covered, and there are post-programme Assisted Play sessions on Wednesday afternoons.
The cost of the programme is $70, which includes the first year's membership of the Taradale Bridge Club and all lesson material.
