Karina and Fabian Conca hail from Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they were immersed in a vibrant tango culture from a young age. Raised amidst a family tradition of tango dancing, they learned their first steps from Fabian's parents, Orlando and Marta Conca, who were respected milongueros. They also drew inspiration from their parents' friends, who belonged to the old school of Tango, emphasising authenticity and tradition.
At TangoConca, Karina and Fabian prioritise the elegance of tango dancing and maintaining a strong connexion between dance partners. Their teaching approach is rooted in their cultural heritage, focusing on the expression of emotions and creativity rather than simply memorising sequences of steps. With years of experience in teaching and performing, Karina and Fabian have showcased their talents in Buenos Aires and various Tango Festivals worldwide.
TangoConca offers a range of classes at different locations. In Marrickville, classes are held at St. John's Church Hall on 120 Darlinghurst Rd every Tuesday, with a practica session following the class. The Richmond branch, located at Richmond School of Arts on March and West Market Streets, holds classes every Wednesday.
In Parramatta, classes take place at Centenary Hall on Fennell and Sorrell Streets every Thursday, followed by a practica session.
