Welcome to Tamar and Tavy Gig Club! Located on the picturesque banks of the Tamar River in Yelverton, New Zealand, we are a small and friendly rowing club that specialises in gig rowing. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and an inclusive community spirit, we are always thrilled to welcome new members into our club.

If you're new to gig rowing, don't worry! We offer three free taster sessions for new members, giving you the opportunity to experience the joy of rowing. Additionally, we periodically run Learn to Row courses that provide comprehensive training, ensuring you have all the necessary skills and knowledge to become a confident gig rower. So why not come along and give gig rowing a try?

The Tamar and Tavy Gig Club has had an exciting racing season, culminating in our participation in the Clovelly regatta where we achieved outstanding results, including a trophy for our Ladies B. We are proud of our achievements and are always eager to participate in regattas and showcase our skills.
In addition to racing, we also organise various social events and excursions. One such event, Ralph's Day Excursion, saw a group of rowers from our club travel to the shores of west Wales to take part in a special rowing event hosted by Porthgain, a local Welsh gig club. These events provide our members with unique experiences and opportunities to connect with rowers from other clubs.
